There are many ways to support Pleasant View’s mission: “We are a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community striving to enhance the quality of life for those we serve in a Christ-like manner” and to honor or remember someone special.

Giving can be as easy as clicking here on “Make A Gift” or writing a check. There are also the options of donating securities, bonds, real estate, or a gift-in-kind. For some, there is the opportunity to have the company where they work (or worked) match their gift. There are a variety of ways to make a planned gift, including your choice to make Pleasant View a beneficiary in your will or estate.

Check

When making a gift by check, you can simply make it payable to PVRC. If you have a designation, please specify this in the memo section, or include a brief note with your check specifying how to designate your gift. Then mail to:

Matching Gifts

Many companies support Pleasant View by matching or multiplying their employee's gifts to Pleasant View. Often this benefit is extended to employee spouses, retirees, and board members. Before you make a gift, check with your company's personnel office.

Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities can provide you with an income tax charitable deduction and a capital gains tax savings. There are several ways to make a gift of securities to Pleasant View: electronic transfer, mailing certificates, or hand delivery. Before making your gift, notify the Development Office of your intent by coming to the office located in Town Square North on Pleasant View's campus, calling 1-717-664-6363, or sending a letter stating your name, address, and the purpose for which the gift is being made.

1. Electronic Transfer - Notify your broker that you wish to make a gift of securities to Pleasant View Retirement Community. After authorizing the transfer, instruct your broker to contact the Development Office. Our office will give your broker complete transfer instructions.

2. Mail - Send the unsigned certificates in an envelope to Pleasant View's Development Office. Do not mail endorsed certificates! Once the certificate is endorsed, it is legal tender and can be exchanged by anyone. In a separate envelope, send a signed stock power to Pleasant View Retirement Community.

3. Hand Delivery - Certificates may also be delivered to the Development Office. The Director of Development will guide you through the transfer process.

Gifts-in-Kind

Gifts-in-kind are tangible gifts of personal property, such as artwork, furniture, historical collections, and household goods. Personal property can be deducted at its current fair market value. For more information on Gifts-in-Kind, contact the Pleasant View Development Office at 1-717-664-6363.

Real Estate

When you make a gift of your home or real property to Pleasant View, you receive an income tax charitable deduction, avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation, and eliminate some costs in transferring the property. In some cases, gifts of real estate can provide income to you.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is an effective and mutually beneficial way of giving to Pleasant View. By making a planned gift, you assist in the benevolent care at Pleasant View while enjoying the benefits of capital gains tax savings, increased income, and income-tax savings. Most importantly, a planned gift maximizes your giving potential while ensuring your future financial security and that of your loved ones. Contact the Development Office for more information.
