1954

Edna Hoffer and Grace Barto founded Pleasant View Rest Home, as a faith-based, but not church affiliated facility. Esther Henry joined them in the endeavor, serving as administrator. Both the guests and staff lived in the building.

1972

1972 Pleasant View organized as a nonprofit corporation. A new nursing care facility was built to replace the original home.

1982

Renamed Pleasant View Manor, the original building was renovated into apartments and offices. Further renovations on campus increased the nursing center capacity to today's 133 licensed beds.

1990

Personal Care (Assisted Living) was added to the campus. The Personal Care area contained 31 private resident rooms connected to the Manor apartments and Nursing areas.

1993

Major expansion added a 24-unit independent living apartment building, 10 cottages, 29 more Assisted Living rooms, and a new main service (core) building. Four additional cottages, Rainbow Terrace and a respite care room followed. The community attained continuing care retirement community (CCRC) status, officially becoming Pleasant View Retirement Community.

1999

After a May Groundbreaking, construction began for the Town Square, a major expansion adding 16 cottages, 76 independent-living apartments, a pool and fitness center, and other amenities to the campus.

2000

Town Square cottages are completed, and the Manor building comes down, making way for construction to continue.

2001

Town Square North and South apartment residents move in.

2002

The Terrace Gardens addition opened on the former site of the Manor, increasing the number of Assisted Living rooms to 96, and adding the 16-room Structured Living memory loss program area.

2003

Twelve additional cottages are added to the North campus. In June, construction to add ten more cottages begins. The grouping includes two new floor plans with increased square footage and two-car garages.

2004

Moving vans arrive at four cottages and signs go up on the remaining two sites, for much anticipated Juniper floor plans. 50th Anniversary planning begins with slogan and interviews of former employees.
