Pleasant View Care at Home (PVCAH) care givers are trained individuals who support the mission and values of Pleasant View Retirement Community. All of our care givers are bonded and insured. Before being hired, care givers undergo an interview process as well as reference and criminal background checks. Initial generalized training includes an overview of Pleasant View Retirement Community and PVCAH rules, regulations, and values. Initial specialized training includes, but is not limited to subjects such as confidentiality, equipment and falls, safety, infection control, dementia and personal care training.
Each year our care givers retrain on these and other subjects with special classes taught by trained professionals. Also, all care givers are required to annually complete on-line courses in 23 different health-related categories.
When choosing to drive a client, care givers must keep current driver registration, license, and insurance information on file with our office. In addition, they must attend a Pleasant View driver training class that consists of both classroom and behind the wheel training.
