As an extension of our emphasis on health and wellness, Pleasant View encourages volunteerism. Once living on the campus, men and women continue thecommunity pursuits that brought them a sense of purpose for many years, such as delivering food for Meals on Wheels. Pleasant View residents underscore our core value to “bear the burden of those we serve in a Christ-like manner” by visiting residents, or transporting them to meals or hair appointments. Whatever your interests, chances are there is a volunteer option that’s right for you. Learn how your unique talents can brighten a person’s day. The Pleasant View Auxiliary, founded in 1991, sponsors projects and events to raise money to benefit residents of Pleasant View. From selling homemade baked treats, spring flowers, and White Elephant treasures to sponsoring seasonal parties and spiritual concerts, the Auxiliary fundraisers support purchases as diverse as computer and software to help residents with memory loss, a large flat screen television for Terrace Gardens, prizes for the monthly community bingo games, and equipment not routinely included in the budget. Enjoy the benefits of membership by contacting Ann Marie Astuto for information.
