Visualizing the Future
You take a stroll through the town square. There is bustling activity surrounding you. Patrons dine outside under the cover of brightly colored umbrellas, laughing as they reconnect with friends. A group of ladies converses over juice smoothies before heading to yoga class. Bicycles whizz past as they turn around a broad Oak tree.
Crossing the street, you see a family with children make their way into a large building, books in hand. You notice a friend heading in the same direction, but instead of books, they’re holding a toolbox.
Another person enters the same building with a shawl and a basket full of yarn. You hear the gentle neigh of horses and the bleating of goats. A wave of yellow sunflowers sways in the breeze.
To your right, you notice a stream of people heading in and out of a barn, and those leaving carry stalks of leafy greens and fragrant herbs. Produce trucks maneuver in and out, filling their cargo with boxes of the same. Just beyond the barn, a meadow of wildflowers meanders over the rolling hills.
Where is this utopia? Closer than you think.
Over the past year, Pleasant View Retirement Community has embarked on establishing its strategic direction for the years to come. Partnering
with CliftonLarsonAllen to lead the strategic planning process, multiple groups of residents, staff, board members, and Manheim community leaders were interviewed to gain insight into their perceptions of Pleasant View’s strengths and weaknesses, and opportunities for the future. These interviews led to deep discussions regarding who is Pleasant View and what is at the heart of our mission. Through continued conversations with key staff and leadership, a vision of Pleasant View has emerged - one that creates enhanced impact, experiences and purpose on our campus allows Pleasant View to serve as the heart of the community and utilizes innovation and technology to improve on the customer experience.
First Internship Scholarship Awarded
The Pleasant View Auxiliary was meeting one day and thanks to Aubrey Smith, Volunteer Coordinator, bringing it to the committee's attention, the story had gone viral. Brad has been a hit with everyone he meets. During an appreciation luncheon, the Auxiliary presented a $1,000 check to Brad. There was not a dry eye in the room.
Town Square Health Club
Don has always felt strongly about showing our support for our troops. As a long-time member of our Health Club, one way for him to be able to spread that effort was through a donation of red shirts for our staff.
We will be wearing them every Friday in support of our deployed troops and veterans. We encourage you to wear to Red on Fridays too!

A New View on the Horizon
Pleasant View Retirement Community is set to expand its Residential Living options with the addition of two new apartment projects.
Nestled in the rolling hills of Northern Lancaster County in the quaint town of Manheim, Pleasant View's newest on-campus apartment project will feature thirty-six open concept private apartments, ranging in size from 1275 to 1700 square feet. Enjoy stunning views of the countryside and sunsets from your balcony or the rooftop deck. West Lawn will be just a few steps from Pleasant View's fitness center, campus gardens, and walking trail. Construction is set to begin in Spring of 2019, with an anticipated completion date of Spring 2020.
Pleasant View is also partnering with Oak Tree Development on the revitalization of the Wilbur Chocolate Factory site in downtown Lititz to provide a new, urban alternative to traditional retirement community living – the Lofts at Lititz Springs. Just a short drive from Pleasant View's Manheim campus, the thirty-two unit contemporary apartment building will be steps away from what makes Lititz one of "America's Coolest Small Towns", with its bustling restaurants, independent retail shops, and the verdant Lititz Springs Park. Construction is slated to begin in the Summer of 2019.
Both projects offer residents carefree living, convenient access to Central PA's major highways and hospital systems, and the safety and security of having a continuum of services and amenities available when needed.
Pleasant View is now accepting priority deposits for both West Lawn and the Lofts at Lititz Springs. We invite you to learn more about our newest developments. This is a unique opportunity to select a new apartment with the finishes of your choice. To learn more, call Melanie DeHart at 717-664-6644.
